We are excited to announce Head Chef Dennis Baker from Shelter in Lennox will be Slinging Plates with Francisco Smoje at Barrio Eatery & Bar on Tuesday 27 August.
With the community in mind, Shelter uses ethically sustainable, seasonal products sourced from local producers and suppliers. Last year Dennis was awarded a hat in the Good Food Guide for his ambition and verve.

What is Slinging Plates?
On the last Tuesday of the month Barrio head chef Francisco Smoje invites a new culinary artist to create affordable dishes at fixed price points for the local community to enjoy. Chefs are encouraged to work with local producers and have the freedom to create a signature dish or something different to what they’re usually known for.
This month, enjoy Dennis’ award-winning cooking with $10 / $20 plates (meat & vegan friendly options) alongside a $10 glass of wine by Ochota Barrels at Addley Clark Fine Wines.
