On Thursday 27 June, Katrina Beohm and Ellen Hayward of Katrina Beohm Real Estate attended the first ever national Women in Real Estate, Real Estate Business Awards in Sydney where the agency was the proud recipient of the Wellness Advocate Business Award.
“For the real estate industry to recognise this as a major attribute is wonderful.” Katrina said. “The importance of everyone’s wellbeing should be in every industry.”
Owner of the Habitat-based agency, Katrina introduced her staff to wellness about four years ago after returning from a weekend with Dr Libby Weaver and enrolling in a nutrition course. From then she has helped share what she learnt with not only her family and friends, but also her clients and staff. Katrina has noticed a change for the better in many lives, called ‘the ripple effect’ which she is thrilled about.
The Lismore Chamber of Business commented ‘Fantastic news for you and the whole region!’ There were 400 nominations and 183 finalists over 27 categories. Katrina and Ellen were proud to be finalists in three other categories.
“Our wellness approach shows that we genuinely care about the wellbeing of all staff, which in turn allows us to be at our best for our clients.” Katrina said. “I believe you need to care for yourself first before you care for anyone else. I’m grateful for all of my staff for being so open to learning about themselves and developing ways to be at their best, and healthy.”
In partnership with Homely, the event was attended by over 500 people who were gathered to recognise the nation’s leading women in the industry: real estate agents, property managers, auctioneers, innovators and market leaders.
REB editor Tim Neary said that the REB Women in Real Estate Awards is an important new initiative.
“The awards provide a platform for women in the industry to showcase their talents and be role models for others,” Mr Neary said.
“It is a great way to recognise the industry’s high-performance female agents, property managers, BDMs and businesses.”
Mr Neary said there had been huge interest in the awards: “The interest in these inaugural awards has been encouraging, with the avalanche of submissions setting a terrific precedent for the future of these awards across all of the categories.
“From national networks to individual agents, the REB Women in Real Estate Awards 2019 recognises excellence in real estate across the nation, and I’d like to congratulate all winners and finalists on their achievements.”
