POP GOES THE FUTURE

Now streaming exists, doesn’t it seem odd that corporations used to decide what TV and movies everyone could watch and when?

Provided with a new model, the old way of sitting in front of a box and passively consuming your entertainment suddenly seems ludicrous, right?

Well, thanks to Popcar, the car share service that’s just delivered three new vehicles to Habitat, we might start thinking the same way about owning cars too.

Popcar is a membership-based service that gives access to a range of cars on-demand where you only pay for what you use.

No more having to pick up and drop off from the hire car place. Or having to hire a vehicle for an entire day when you only need it for a couple of hours. Popcar is a new way of getting around with all the flexibility you’d expect in this day and age.

When designing Habitat, one of our main objectives was to deprioritise the car – the idea being that if we created a village where people could live, work and play, all in the one place, they’d hardly need a vehicle.

That’s why we’re excited to partner with Popcar, because now Habitat residents have the legitimate option of ditching their car altogether.

That might sound crazy, but it’s been proven that cars are parked 95% of the time, so why would we all continue to spend so much on something we use so little?

To get behind the concept, Habitat are paying for the memberships of all Habitat residents and businesses, so there’s no monthly subscription fees, no lock in contracts, and everyone gets access to their best rates.
